Flor De Mayo: NYC's Top Chino-Latino Restaurant
Recently NYC’s culinary scene there’s been a recent trend in Asian fusion cuisine – from sushi burritos to to kimchi tacos. However, the small numbers of Chino-Latino restaurants in the city are a completely unique experience of their own. This blend of two very different worlds were a result of Chinese immigrants who settled to Mexico, Peru, and other Latin American countries in the 19th and 20th centuries, usually as contract workers. After WWII many Chino-Latinos immigrated to large urban areas of the States, often in Latinx communities in New York City and Los Angeles.
